It appears to be a very low mileage bike that hasn't been used much(the clock shows 7k miles) and judging by the condition of all the original fasteners, may be somewhat accurate. Anyways the gearbox shifts great, doesn't jump out of gear, clutch engagement is smooth. However I have a strange noise coming from the clutch when I disengage it fully. The noise almost sounds like gears wanting to mesh but slipping on each other. It only makes this noise when fully disengaged and will stop after holding it disengaged for a few seconds. It makes the noise in neutral or gear. It also makes it at a stop or in motion but only when the clutch is fully disengaged. It also doesn't make the noise if I add a little more play to the clutch lever in order to prevent a complete disengagement. Even at less than full disengagement, the gearbox & clutch seem to work fine. I've been farting around with these bikes for years now & I never heard a noise like this before. I will no doubt remove the side cover to have an inspection of the chains and other parts however I was hoping that maybe you could lead me in the right direction of what I should look for as far as that noise goes. I was almost thinking that maybe that oil guide might be missing, however the clutch works great.Acehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00664149049686986207noreply@blogger.com
