I restored a friend's 400F a couple years back and it also turned out to have oil leaks in several parts of the cylinder casting. I had worked on the bike while a Honda mechanic back in 1976 to "fix" an oil leak. But at the time I mis-diagnosed the problem as a leaking head gasket. I don't recall seeing a service bulletin on the problem at the time. Then 40 years later I restored the bike w/new rings and valve job and the original oil leaks came back to challenge me again! This time I correctly diagnosed the source, but took the easy way out and patched the leaks (mostly) with dabs of epoxy externally.
Sunny Slope Orchardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10692919318824507104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1972124591600358168.post-53256291705706733242019-05-23T18:14:15.542-07:002019-05-23T18:14:15.542-07:00So glad I was able to find a nice (mostly) stock e...So glad I was able to find a nice (mostly) stock example myself. Once I go over everything, I'll have this on the road so I can compare it to my CB350F1...
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09381993492072150256noreply@blogger.com
